"America's Mayor" Giuliani is out of the race, six months ago he was regarded by many to be a syre number one winner. Slick, sleazy, slimey, scumbag, shyster lawyer John Edwards is out too. Why was he ever there to begin with? Who is left in the running? Who will ultimately win from each party? Does semi-liberal (3/4) republican John McCain really have a chance to be president? Would he or could he defeat Hillary or Obama? Every main-stream, dinosaur media type "journalist" is a rabid left-wing liberal (progressive?) and thinks that everyone in the world is also a brain-dead brain-washed liberal and will all vote democrat. But, will they? For good or bad, I happen to live and work in the liberal WHITE world, upper middle class, academics and military weapons contractors. YES, McCain WILL over Hillary and/or Obama. And why, you may ask? Just think about how many of these "progressive" liberals in real life will refuse to vote for a "woman" regardless of who her husband is; and, no way in hell will they ever "vote" FOR a "BLACK GUY". But, they will vote for the almost-liberal WHITE - MAN even if he is the "republican" candidate. The secrecy afforded within the voting booth will prove the lie of liberalism, and make a fool of all pundits, pollsters, and prognosticators; and John McCain will be president. Can, or will a true conservative like libertarian Ron Paul win? Can a partial conservative like Romney or Huckabee win? NOT!! Just give it over to the Dem-Libs if they are the presidential candidate. So it is said! So it is written! So it is to be !

Well my friend, it doesn't matter, we have two moderates left in the Republican race. One thing is assured, the neocons will be gone and the extreme right will find out how extreme they are when they no longer feel a part of the Republican Party. And the cleanising may begin when they also soul search after the party disappearing act in both houses in 2008. It's been long over do, true conservatives will return, and that's a breath of freash air for all Americans. People are sick of the us against the extreme cranks, and understand that the problems are more important...how resfreshing...
I'm a New Yorker and I've seen Rudy Giuliani's management style up close and personal. He was arrogant and self centered. His police commissioner, Bernard Kerik was no accident. So where are we after 16 years of Bush's and 8 years of Clinton's and, what do we have to show for it? Nothing! and now, Hillary said she stands for change. Change what? She doesn't have a clue she just wants to be in "control." What else is new. Obama is a slick ultra liberal period. Our best hope and I agree with you is McCain. There's not much to choose from in terms of what this country needs as we move into the 21st century and that's scary to say the least.
I like your style!!!
You make a ton of good points, Oldfatdude ...
And, "Amen" to Strider and Peacenow...
I'll probably vote for McCain because he's a moderate and he'll kick the far-right nutters outta the seats they stole when they helped Herr DeciderMonster Bush to rig the 2004 Federal Elections ...
And, dude, I really don't care whether you believe that Bush is a saint or a devil, because, at the end of the day, the majority of us KNOW that he's a religious fanatic, whose paranoid meddling in latin america in 2000, and his blatant disregard for the lives of those who died on September 11th when his own people gave him actionable intelligence in advance of the attack, set the stage for him to become the worst modern president in the history of our nation.
I can sum up how the rest of the world views Bush this way:
Almost the VERY first thing people ask me about when they learn I'm American is, "What do you think of your president?"
Once I respond by telling them I think he's a religous nutball and a tyrant, they laugh, and they heartily shake my hand. I've been traveling abroad since February of 2007, with a little break to be back in Texas in July and August, so I've seen a lot of countries.
John McCain WILL be a breath of fresh air ... the ChickenHawk Brain-Dead-Ender from Kinnebunkport is on his way soon to his family's Paraguay Getaway ... Thank God!!!
Oh, and one more thing, when you're tempted to throw rocks at my conspiracy theories, don't, and, instead, if you are really convinced my theories are bunk, then, ignore them.
Because by coming onto my site and saying you won't believe that Bush profits from the war, unless you see him spending tons of money and jet-setting around the world, you are displaying a lack of basic awareness about his family's long-time ownership interest in the Carlye Group.
Don't bother asking me for more information on this Oldfatdude, because I don't earn one cent for what gets written here, and because you are perfectly capable of researching the issue yourself. And, if you expect the so-called "mainstream media" to help you in your quest for enlightenment in this matter, you might as well forget that, because they are bribed by the federal government, so they ain't Fair or Balanced, dude.
You're biased about Bush because you voted for him.
I voted for him the first time around because I was unaware of his history of abuse of power while he was governor of my state.
Sure, we feel betrayed when enstrust an opportunist with near-absolute power, but throwing rocks at messengers who are telling us that the Emperor is not wearing any clothes is counter-productive and petty.
Get on the internet and google search phrases likely to lead you to sites that talk about Bush and his family's skeletions.
I say this because I get attacked by people who have said some very mean-spirited things, and, frankly, I'm not going to answer people when they are too intellectually lazy to do their own research about the nature of the government which rules them.
